Communicating with Style

The client wanted a personalized way to send hand written notes that would be kept.
The solution:
Custom printed Post-it Notes in a 3 x 4 inch size with 25 sheets per pads.
The note is written on the top sheet leaving 24 sheets to sit on the recipient's desk. They mail for a first class stamp and can also be included in packages with other items, gifts and products.
Why does it matter whether my custom printed notes are actually made by 3M?
It matters more than most people realize -- and anyone who has ever grabbed a sticky note only to find it on the floor an hour later already knows why. The adhesive is everything, and 3M's proprietary adhesive technology is not something that gets replicated by generic manufacturers, no matter what the packaging claims.
3M's notes use a pressure-sensitive adhesive that bonds reliably to paper, glass, painted walls, computer monitors, and most smooth surfaces -- and releases cleanly without damaging what it was stuck to or leaving a residue behind. That sounds basic until you've dealt with generic versions that either fall off mid-meeting or peel the paint off a wall when removed. In a professional setting, that kind of failure reflects on whoever handed out the notes.
There's also the paper itself. 3M engineers the weight, texture, and coating of their note paper specifically to work with their adhesive and to accept ink cleanly -- whether someone is writing by hand or your brand is being printed on it before it ever reaches them. The result is a note that performs consistently every single time.
When your logo is on a product, that product's performance becomes part of your brand experience. Putting your name on a note that actually works -- every time, on every surface -- is a small but meaningful statement about your standards. As authorized 3M dealers, we can ensure you're getting the genuine article, not a knock-off wearing a familiar color.
What sizes are available, and how do I know which one is right for my needs?
3M produces their notes in a range of sizes, and the right choice depends on how your recipients are most likely to use them. The most familiar is the classic 3x3 inch square -- the one that lives on monitors, folders, and the edges of desks everywhere. It's the workhorse of the lineup and the most universally recognized format, which makes it a strong default for most branded giveaways and conference distributions.
The 4x6 inch note offers significantly more writing space and works particularly well when the use case involves longer messages, action items, or when you want more real estate for a bold printed design alongside the writing area. It tends to feel more substantial as a gift and sits nicely on a desk as a mini notepad.
The 3x4 inch note deserves a special mention -- it's an often overlooked size that hits a sweet spot many clients love once they discover it. It's large enough to carry a real message but compact enough to feel like a note rather than a page. It works beautifully as a replacement for traditional notecards -- think thank you notes, follow-up messages, or handwritten client touches that feel personal without requiring a formal card and envelope. For companies that want to encourage a culture of personal communication, a branded 3x4 pad on every desk is a surprisingly elegant solution.
Smaller formats -- like the 1.5x2 inch and 2x2 inch notes -- work beautifully in multipack sets or as part of a larger branded stationery collection. They're popular for flag-style page markers and tabbed organizers.
Wider rectangular formats like the 3x5 and 4x4 are excellent for list-makers and project planners who need a little more horizontal space. And for maximum visual impact with your branding, the larger 4x6 and 5x8 formats give your design room to breathe while still being functional tools someone reaches for every day.
Every conference, office environment, and gifting situation calls for something slightly different -- and we're happy to talk through which size or combination of sizes makes the most sense for what you have in mind.
What print options are available for custom 3M notes, and what can I do with that space?
As authorized 3M dealers, we offer a range of print options that go well beyond simply dropping a logo in the corner. One important thing that surprises most clients: full color printing on 3M notes is actually less expensive than PMS matched single color printing. That means you don't have to choose between staying on budget and making a bold visual impression -- you can have both.
Full color printing opens up real creative possibilities -- a bold brand pattern as the background, a call to action, a QR code linking to a product page or event registration, a campaign visual, or a design that ties directly into a conference theme or seasonal promotion. And on larger quantity orders, we can take things a step further: the imprint can actually change from sheet to sheet within the same pad. That means each page can carry a different message, image, or call to action -- turning a simple notepad into a sequenced storytelling tool or a multi-message campaign in the palm of someone's hand.
For clients who want even greater flexibility, we also offer Changeable Copy -- a digital print option that allows the copy to vary across individual notes within the same order. This opens up possibilities like personalization, sequential messaging, or targeted variations for different audiences, all produced in a single run.
PMS matched printing -- where your brand's exact Pantone color is precisely matched -- is the right choice when color accuracy is non-negotiable. For brands with strict standards around how their colors reproduce, the consistency and precision of PMS printing is worth the premium. But for most applications, full color delivers a stunning result at a lower price point.
Custom packaging is also available for clients who want to present the notes as part of a larger branded gift or conference set -- a small touch that can meaningfully elevate the overall impression.
The range of what's possible is genuinely wide, and the right approach depends on your goals, your brand aesthetic, and how the notes are being used or distributed. We'd love to walk you through the options -- reach out for a consultation and we'll help you figure out exactly what will make the most impact.
